Confederate Issue Cartridge Box #3...Entirely Hand Made...Pattern Taken Right From Original Specimen...Constructed Of Oak Tanned Leather...Blackened, English Bridle, or Russet leather...Small Brass Finial..."Single" Tin Included...The caliber size of this box is unknow and may very well be a .54 caliber cartridge box due to its unusually small size, lack of box belt buckles and single tin...however the original box was found with a single .577 caliber Enfield round inside...This box may be a great example of the southern cottage industry, incorrectly sized and used with any caliber weapon...For more information about this box, check out the article written by Fredrick Gaede in the Winter 1998 "Journal of the Company of Military Historians" (Vol. 50, No. 4)
